Medical Campaign 2018 Video!

Ever wondered what happens in a medical mission campaign? The answer is nothing short of miraculous. Over the course of 4 days, medical professionals and volunteers from the United States saw nearly 2,000 patients in general medicine, ophthalmology, and physical therapy. Additionally, countless numbers of Bible studies were undertaken by members of the church, and a large carnival like festival was held to reach out the children of the community while their families waited to receive care.

We hope this video helps you to visualize all that occurred during this wonderful week!

Medical Mission Campaign Preparations

The Medical Mission Campaign is almost upon us! This campaign is a fantastic way for us to reach out to the people of Cusco with the help of friends from the United States! We set up a free medical clinic with Physicians, Nurses, Physical Therapists, Ophthalmologists, Translators, and anyone else who wants to help, for 4 days in a local park. We have been told that around 1,800 Peruvians come through by the end of the campaign. We are so excited as this is also one of the best ways that God, through the Iglesia de Cristo Allyu and American campaigners, can outreach to the city!

This year, Mitchel and I have been mainly involved in the Children’s aspect of this campaign as well as helping with a few other details in the medical portion.

The children’s section of the campaign is going to have carnival stations such as face painting, crafts, and games! We went to one of the markets on our way back from Spanish school to buy 1000 pipe cleaners and some finger paint. We had some awesome ladies hand count bunches of supplies for us!

We are really excited about all the children that will have a great experience and hopefully be encouraged to find out more about the love of Christ!

One of our teammates also set up a prayer guide in preparation for the campaign as a whole. We would love for you to join us as we talk to our Father about His plans for our hands and hearts as we serve the people of Cusco, Peru.

Thank you so much for following along on this journey with us! We love that our friends can be right beside us as we do what God has called for us to do!

In Him,

Mitchel and Rachel Routh

Small but Significant Steps

Thank you so much for all of your prayers over the past few months! We have received our residency cards and feel like we can finally start setting into our new home here! These cards will allow us to set up our bank account, have a phone plan, acquire internet for our apartment, among other things. We are now on our way back to Cusco after a short trip to Lima to aquire them  up. Were really excited and wanted to share this small but significant step with you. We are also praying for your families and our church family and hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!

And of course we had to stop and eat ceviche and chicharrón while in Lima!!
